Course Description
If your role involves servicing, maintaining, repairing, disconnecting, reconnecting, or testing permanently connected three-phase electrical equipment, New Zealand legislation requires you to hold the appropriate registration with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB).
This programme provides the knowledge and practical skills required to safely work on three-phase electrical equipment and prepares participants to apply for registration as an Electrical Service Technician (EST).
It also covers electrical safety, fault-finding, testing procedures, regulatory requirements, and practical servicing skills necessary for working on industrial and commercial electrical equipment.
Programme delivery - 4 x online night live zoom classes with 4 day on campus classes.

Start working as an Electrical Service Technician under supervision, applying your EAS and EST skills in real-world settings while you build the experience required to apply for full registration with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB).

EWRB EW Number Requirement
All new electrical workers are required to obtain an EWRB EW Number before attending training.
To apply, create your profile through the EWRB website www.ewrb.govt.nz and select Register. This is not a registration application, just a profile request for all future results and applications for registration to be lodged against.

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants become eligible to sit the required EWRB examinations administered by ASPEQ. ASPEQ offers computer-based examinations throughout the year at approved examination centres and selected training provider venues.

- Examination bookings and payments must be made directly through ASPEQ.
- Eligibility to sit the examination must be verified by your training provider following successful completion of the course.
