This programme provides the knowledge and practical skills required to safely maintain, disconnect, and reconnect single-phase 230-volt electrical appliances. It is designed to help you meet the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) training requirements and prepare for the EAS examination.

Course Overview
Under the Electricity Act, anyone carrying out maintenance on electrical appliances must be registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) as an Electrical Appliance Serviceperson with the appropriate disconnect and reconnect endorsement.
This programme is designed to:
- Develop the knowledge and practical skills required to work safely on 230-volt appliances.
- Prepare you for the EWRB Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (EAS) examination.
- Complete the practical assessment requirements for registration.
Programme delivery - 3 x online night live zoom classes with 4 day on campus classes.
A streamlined training pathway that combines the flexibility of three online evening sessions with an intensive four-day block course, reducing time away from work while maximising hands-on practical learning.

EWRB / ASPEQ Examinations
Upon successful completion of the programme, participants become eligible to sit the required EWRB examinations administered by ASPEQ. ASPEQ offers computer-based examinations throughout the year at approved examination centres and selected training provider venues.

- Examination fees are not included in the course fee.
- Examination bookings and payments must be made directly through ASPEQ.
- Eligibility to sit the examination must be verified by your training provider following successful completion of the course.

EWRB EW Number Requirement
All new electrical workers are required to obtain an EWRB EW Number before attending training.
To apply, create your profile through the EWRB website www.ewrb.govt.nz and select Register. This is not a registration application, just a profile request for all future results and applications for registration to be lodged against.
