Course Overview

Healthcare workers who undertake this course will develop new skills in providing clinical practice instructions to, and evaluation of, students and newcomers to the Healthcare workplace, strengthening their broad portfolio of skills, as well as boosting their thinking about Healthcare practices. 

 

Preceptorship in healthcare is a programme for people in regulated professions such as:

-Registered nurses

-Enrolled nurses

-Midwives

-Social workers

-Counsellors

-Anesthetic technicians

-Physiotherapists

 and people working in unregulated healthcare provider roles such as:

-Kaiawhina

-Healthcare assistants

-Primary care assistants

 

Programme Structure

Two one day workshops at Wintec Hamilton City Campus and  fully online.

Learning hours: 50 hours over 6 weeks

Level: This is a level 7 course

Credits: 5

Assessment: Competency-based, consisting of  1 quiz, 1 forum discussions and a final video submission.
